Spring has begun

I am now in Argentina! I am so happy to be here and see my family again after so long (I haven't been back to Argentina for about the past 2 years). So far I have just been meeting up with family members, we are all planing to celebrate Easter this Sunday instead of the next just so we can spend it all together as a family.

Speaking of which, I was actually talking to my uncle (he owns his own graphics design and animation company here) about what I do currently as a videographer and how I'm trying to learn more. He said he could teach me more about after effects and animation this week! I am so excited cause (not only do I get to spend more time with my uncle) but also this is gonna help me out immensely with what I need to get done for this video this week. I will also be looking through youtube videos (cause he can't spend that much time helping me) but this is gonna really be a great stepping stone to get this work done.

Ready for take off ... again

As I had mentioned before, I will be leaving for Argentina today for the rest of spring break. I was able to get all my class work done this week but instead of finishing some of what I originally wanted for this film opening, I made sure to schedule everything specifically to try and avoid any more problems. I have decided to in a sense jump ahead on what I wanted to do by starting on animation and effects while I'm gone and then go back to finish audio the week I come back. At dance I actually had Noelle and one other boy (who is similar height to Nic) do a small waltz so that I could have a reference for drawing the animation. I want it to be a simple dance cross across the screen (not like below haha) but I have never animated something like this so I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Trying to get back to normal

Wait I don't remember ordering a plate of work with a side of stress. It has only been two days back and I am swamped with all this work I have to do. I had originally asked my teachers for what work I had to before hand; they told me I either wouldn't have to make up anything, or told me what I had to do. It was lies because now that I'm back they all gave me work, and one teacher told me to do the wrong work so now I have work that doesn't count. Sorry I'm ranting, its just that since the quarter ends this Thursday, all this time I thought I would have to get a head start on my project before spring break is gone cause I have to get all this work done.

Speaking of which, now I have to reschedule recording the voice overs of my actors. They understand (especially cause Nic went to STN with me so he is swamped too) so we are gonna do it after spring break, which is cutting it close but I think it will be fine. For now all I can do is try to reorganize myself and try to make this all work out.

Working towards success

I am back home! I have been working hard bettering my skill and thinking about what I could better for this video this week even if I couldn't do much to further the progress on the project. This week has been absolutely crazy but it has been so worth all these amazing memories. I didn't place in the end for NAT package (my individual competition) but I'm still proud of the video we made, plus we won 4th in the nation for our Cypress Bay team competition entry in STN's Crazy 8 Broadcast News competition! On top of all the competing that happened this week, I also went to a bunch of workshops. Some of them were extremely helpful in not just helping me better my content for Aftershock, but also for this film opening. Majority of what I learned from the workshops was about story telling and the importance of sound bites. I know now formatting techniques for laying out a story plot but I can still add on to audio and making it really stand out. Editing the basic structure of this film opening has been  completed. This week has just been inspiring and I can't wait for this week to start to get even more work done.
